Unit Overview
This unit introduces pupils to outdoor and adventurous activities that develop teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Develops teamwork and cooperation through group challenges
- Encourages problem-solving and decision-making in practical situations
- Introduces following routes, trails and simple instructions
- Develops communication, leadership and listening skills
- Encourages resilience, perseverance and positive attitudes
- Promotes safe participation and respect for others and the environment
Unit Outcomes
By the end of this unit, pupils will be able to:
- Work effectively as part of a team to solve challenges
- Follow simple routes, trails or instructions safely
- Communicate ideas clearly when working in a group
- Show perseverance and resilience when faced with problems
- Take on different roles within a team
- Demonstrate safe and respectful behaviour during activities
